Warchild
War Child is a rights-based organization committed to the fulfilment of children’s rights, in particular their right to healthy psychosocial development. Our work is based on principles enshrined in international human rights instruments such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) – and on child development theories from disciplines such as social anthropology and psychology. Although we deal with essentially all the rights of the UNCRC, we focus our work on Articles 38 (protection and care of children affected by armed conflict) and Article 39 (psychological recovery and social reintegration of child victims).
Working for War Child
War Child Holland is always looking for experienced colleagues who are dedicated to fulfilling our organization’s goals: to provide psychosocial assistance to child victims of wars and conflicts.
However, most of the positions in the field are held by national staff and recruitment for these positions is coordinated in the field by the programme teams themselves.
Key field positions are recruited internationally under the coordination of headquarters in Amsterdam. Key field positions are available to national and international staff. All of these key field positions are long-term assignments for which we want to find people who are able to commit for at least one year.
Our colleagues in the War Child Programmes get a high level of responsibility and independence. That means that our colleagues are experienced professionals who are dedicated to fulfilling our organization’s goal to enhance the general well-being of children and young people in (post) conflict-affected areas and contribute to building peaceful societies.
Our positions are available to national and international staff. All of these positions are long-term assignments for which we want to find people who are able to commit themselves. These positions are recruited internationally under the coordination of headquarters in Amsterdam.
